A multi talented Entertainer – Singer, Song writer and Producer who has the ability to captivate his audience with his flexible repertoire. His musical journey began in his homeland, Jamaica. At an early age he learned to play the guitar and made his first stage appearance at age twelve. As a teenager he migrated to London where he attended the Ivor Mirants school of music. His lessons included singing, composing, guitar and bass. Together with his band he toured Germany where he was signed by Ariola Records. His first Single was „Frag mein Herz“ the German cover version of Please don’t go. His breakthrough came with his second single „Keep on smiling“ which topped the charts in several countries including South Africa. The hit earned him several golden records and led to many prestigious TV appearances worldwide. James also charted in the Benelux countries and had six major hits including Limbo La La, Santo Domingo, J’Taime Cherie. James returned to the Caribbean (Trinidad) in the late 70s, grounded his record label JL Records, and went on to produce such hits as Bald head Rasta, You are what Love is, Never seen Santa etc. The all round showman also produced TV shows and Gala events. He was the driving force behind (BUCKS) one of the Caribbean’s biggest Calypso and Scoa events. His last album „Multiple Vibes“ featured a mixture of Pop, Soul, Hip Hop, Reggae, R&B and Latin, James returned to Europe to find that Keep on Smiling was now an evergreen and decided to record updated versions of the song. He returned to the stage for a while but opted to take a break in order to compose and create new songs for a new album, which promises to be an interesting mixture of various musical genres. The producer is currently scouting for new talent.
